Privacy Policy

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. When you generate a reflection, we collect the prompt text you enter, your selected emotion, and the AI-generated encouragement, scriptures, and study plan returned to you. We also store your app preferences (preferred Bible translation, reminder settings) and a count of reflections received.

Your information is used solely to provide the Grace & Word service: to generate personalized reflections, save your journal entries, schedule reminders, and manage your subscription. We do not use your personal reflections or journal content to train external AI models.

To generate reflections, your prompt text and selected emotion are sent to our AI provider (OpenRouter, which routes to Anthropic models). These providers process your input solely to generate your reflection and do not store or train on your inputs. Subscription billing is processed by Stripe, which receives your payment data directly. No other third parties receive your personal content.

Your account data and journal entries are retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings, your profile, all reflections, and preferences are permanently erased from our database within 30 days. Subscription records held by Stripe are governed by Stripe's retention policies.

Every record in our database is isolated to your account through row-level security policies. No other user can read, access, or modify your personal reflections. All data is encrypted in transit. Authentication credentials are managed by the platform's secure auth backend; we never store your password in plaintext.

You may access, export, and delete your data at any time. To export your journal, use the PDF export feature. To delete your data, use "Clear All Journal Entries" or "Delete Account" in Settings. Deleting your account is irreversible and erases all associated data.

Grace & Word is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Reflections and study plans in Grace & Word are generated by artificial intelligence. They are intended for personal spiritual encouragement and reflection, not as professional pastoral, medical, or mental health advice. Always consult a qualified professional for serious concerns.

Grace & Word will never sell, rent, or trade your personal reflections, journal entries, or account information to third parties. Your spiritual journey is not for sale.

You may permanently delete your account and all associated reflection data at any time from Settings. Deletion is irreversible and erases all associated data.
